Motor home engines come in gas or diesel engine styles. Diesel engines usually are located in the rear of the coach and are generally found on larger units. Next is the use of cat diesel. The two most common diesel engines are Cummins and Caterpillar. Though there are differences, both are excellent engines.
Sound
Cummins is a good choice if you are a fan of the sound of straight pipe engines. Caterpillar’s engines are much louder with a deeper boom.
